L’Altra Romagna was established as a limited liability company (s.r.l.) on December 23, 1992. The company was formed as a G.A.L. (Local Action Group) in 1994, initiating its application for the presentation and management of the Leader II Project for the Romagna Apennine area.
It became a limited liability consortium company on September 28, 2004.

- endowed with legal personality
- financed, for the most part, by the State, regional or local authorities, or by other public law bodies; or whose management is subject to the control of such bodies, or of a management or supervisory board; or more than half of its members are appointed by the State, regional or local authorities, or by other public law bodies.
